Seniors using computers and accessing the internet has significantly increased according to the 2011 US Census.  In 2000, according to the polled individuals, only 15 % of seniors, 65 and over accessed the internet.  By 2011 the percent jumped to 42 % which is a large increase but when you compare it to the other age groups the numbers are still low.  The largest percentages of users are in 18-29 and 30-49 age groups which are 95 and 87 %.   Difference in numbers can be attributed to various reasons from use of computers in classrooms to the use in the workforce.

Some seniors lack from exposure to computers and the internet and when those individuals are they are hooked like all the rest of us.  If you have a parent or grandparent that has never used a computer take the time to let them experience the technology that we sometimes take for granted.
